About UK Youth
Founded in 1911, UK Youth improves social mobility by providing high quality services for young people aged 9 to 25 that are delivered through a network of locally accessible youth organisations across the UK.
Our vision is for all young people to be empowered to build bright futures, whatever their background or circumstances.
Our reach – we work primarily with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, from a wide range of religious and cultural environments, family settings, academic ability levels and geographic locations across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
UK Youth simply couldn’t continue its vital work without the funds raised at Art for Youth North.
UK Youth is a leading charity with a vision that all young people are equipped to thrive and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives. With an open network of over 8,000 youth organisations and nation partners; we reach over 4.1 million young people across the UK and are focused on unlocking youth work as the catalyst of change that is needed now more than ever.
We also play a unique role in addressing; the lack of investment into the youth sector, the lack of cross sector understanding of how youth work makes a difference and the limited opportunities to embed effective solutions. These factors lead to mass inequality of access to youth services for young people. We:
- Distribute funding to the sector alongside youth work content and we use our insights to grow an evidence base.
- Work through networks of youth organisations and supporters, to galvanise a movement of people who support our shared vision.
- Capture, share and embed solutions to strengthen the sector and accelerate the positive impact we have on young people.
- Campaign for greater investment in and understanding of youth work through influencing policy, innovative storytelling and strategic partnerships.
- Amplify young voices and those of youth organisations, strengthened by a sector-leading digital approach.
